Our coral operation runs across two locations. In Banyuwangi, East Java, we work alongside established local suppliers and our own mariculture program, close to one of Indonesia’s key coral-producing regions.
In Jakarta, our headquarters and export facility handles holding, conditioning, order preparation, packing, documentation, and international shipment.
Coral Holding & Conditioning
Every coral is conditioned before it ships. These systems are part of our 2,000 m² Jakarta holding and export facility, where corals are prepared alongside marine fish and other aquatic livestock.
Lighting & flow
Large-volume troughs with commercial-grade reef lighting and wave makers.
Filtration
Protein skimming, chemical, biological, and mechanical filtration, with auto dosers and algae turf scrubbers where required.
Water testing
Regular checks with Hanna Instruments and other professional equipment: salinity, temperature, pH, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, phosphate.
Pre-export check
Colour, tissue condition, polyp extension, and overall health, so each coral is ready for international transport.
Coral Mariculture & Sustainability
The long-term health of Indonesia's reefs is essential to the future of the ornamental marine industry. Alongside responsibly sourced corals, Aqua Marindo operates a marine coral propagation and mariculture program in Banyuwangi. Selected parent colonies are propagated into fragments and grown within our sea-based mariculture operation, allowing them to develop under natural ocean conditions.
Our objective is to progressively expand the range and quantity of maricultured corals available to our customers while reducing dependence on wild collection wherever commercially and biologically practical. Mariculture also allows us to develop more consistent availability of selected coral varieties while continuing to work with Indonesia's established coastal communities and suppliers.
