Get to know goldfish

Goldfish are popular freshwater fish known for their bright colors and wide variety of shapes, from classic Common Goldfish to fancy varieties with flowing fins and rounded bodies. Selective breeding over hundreds of years has created many unique appearances, while their ability to learn feeding routines shows they are not as forgetful as commonly believed. Depending on the variety, goldfish can have different swimming abilities and feeding needs.
Goldfish require a well-filtered aquarium because they produce waste that can quickly affect water quality. They are generally divided into Common Goldfish and Fancy Goldfish, which should ideally be kept separately because faster-swimming common varieties may outcompete fancy goldfish for food. A balanced diet, regular water maintenance, and adequate swimming space are essential for keeping these freshwater fish healthy.
