Betta fish, also known as Siamese fighting fish, are fascinating freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia, where they inhabit shallow, warm waters with dense vegetation and low oxygen levels. Unlike many other fish, Bettas have a special labyrinth organ that allows them to breathe air directly from the water's surface. Selective breeding has produced an incredible variety of colors and fin shapes, from Halfmoon to Crowntail, making them popular among aquarium enthusiasts. One unique behavior of Betta fish is their ability to build bubble nests at the water's surface, even when no female is present. Males are naturally territorial and are generally best kept alone to prevent fighting and fin damage. They thrive in warm water around 25–27°C, with gentle water movement, subdued lighting, and plenty of plants that recreate their natural habitat.Get to know betta fish
