TETRAS

Tetras are popular freshwater fish known for their bright colors, peaceful temperament, and schooling behavior. Native to the Americas and Africa, they come in many varieties, including Neon Tetras, Cardinal Tetras, Black Skirt Tetras, and Bloodfin Tetras. Most species are relatively easy to care for, making them suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarium enthusiasts. They are naturally social fish and feel more comfortable when kept in groups of six or more.

Most tetras thrive in well-filtered aquariums with stable water conditions, plenty of swimming space, and subdued lighting that enhances their colors. They are generally peaceful and do well with similarly sized community fish, such as rasboras, small danios, barbs, and suitable livebearers. These omnivorous freshwater fish accept a varied diet of flakes, granules, pellets, and frozen foods. Although tetras can be bred in captivity, breeding can be challenging because adults may eat their eggs, so a separate breeding setup is often needed.
